Privacy Policy

The Marginalia Press ("we") operates riapress.com. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. The data controller is The Marginalia Press (riapress.com). Contact hello@riapress.com.
What we collect
- Email address: when you ask for the reading tracker or subscribe to reading emails. We use it to fulfil your tracker request and, if subscribed, deliver reading emails. You can unsubscribe any time via the link in every email.
- Contact form messages: if you write to us, we receive the name, email address and message you enter, and use them to handle your enquiry. Our hosting provider processes the form and its spam checks. We keep a short-lived record of the sending IP address to block spam.
- Our hosting provider processes outbound offer, referring-page and country details during the click request to measure referrals.
- Analytics: our cookieless analytics provider measures pages visited, device type and page load speed without cookies; Google Analytics also processes usage data and cookie identifiers. We use it to understand what content helps people. It loads only after consent where consent is required (the UK and European Economic Area), and never when we detect a Global Privacy Control signal.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information. We don't share your email with third parties for their marketing.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. We honor Global Privacy Control signals. California residents and EU/UK visitors have additional rights under applicable law, contact us to exercise them.
Contact

We use our spam-prevention provider to help prevent automated form submissions.
Our email service provider processes email subscriptions and sends the emails you request.
Our hosting provider stores contact messages in a delivery queue for up to 90 days; delivery may remove them sooner. This expiry applies to the queue, not delivered correspondence.
IP-based contact spam-limit records expire within 25 hours.
Delivered contact messages remain in our mailbox until deleted. You can request deletion through our contact page.
Subject to applicable law, you can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. Use our contact page to exercise these rights or raise a privacy question.
See how Google uses information from partner sites.
Subscription records are retained while you subscribe; minimal suppression records are retained as needed to honor opt-outs. Our hosting provider stores request and consent records (email address, wording/version, page, time, country and marketing choice) for every tracker request, including when marketing is declined. These records expire after two years. Unsubscribe using the link in an email, or contact us to request deletion.
We deliver the reading tracker whether or not visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland choose optional marketing emails. We use consent for those emails and legitimate interests for requested marketing elsewhere, subject to your right to object. We process tracker requests to fulfil your request and contact messages to answer your enquiry; spam prevention serves our legitimate interest in protecting the site. You can withdraw email consent at any time and complain to your local data protection authority.
