E. Hamilton Currey

Currey's account of Mediterranean pirates places piracy in the context of its times, when life was violent, politics was crude, and the greatness of men was determined by their ability to conquer. He is sympathetic to the "Moslems", and has a historiographic sensibility that is ahead of his time.
